In the last two weeks I thought I'd read and relax, but none of that happened. Instead I got sucked into an epic historical drama with awesome larger-than-life characters, and I couldn't bring myself to read anything afterward. It's disappointing, but basically 007 Dukes and so on that I had on my TBR just lost their appeal.
I'm sure my appetite for them will return by the end of the summer at the latest.
How's your August so far?

I used to read a variety of romance novels, but I got into a kick in the early summer of reading paranormal. Now I can’t hardly read anything but those types. If the book doesn’t have vampires or at least some form of immortals in it, I lose interest.
I’m not sure what my problem is that my interest is lost for all the other genres out there. The fall semester is beginning in about a week for my senior year. I’m a history major so maybe going back to reading the drier non-fiction history will snap me out of my paranormal kick, or not, who knows? I have a thesis to write by December so that will probably keep me from reading much of anything that isn’t related to that.

Susan — I go through a cycle myself, too, so I don’t think it’s that unusual. It usually take me 2-4 weeks before I can reset, so I can read other genres.

Well, I read some Showalter, J. Kenyon, S. And a few other novels. As for August all I read so far are my students emotions -how sad is that :( However, hubby and I took some long weekends visiting friends and family to relax away from work load.
I wrote a new poem and knitting new Fall scarves for hubby and me :)
